Happy, Rainy 4th of July

It has been wet wet wet here in Atlanta!  Most official fourth of July festivities were canceled, so it felt like an odd holiday.  But, as with many things interrupted, our rainy July 4th weekend ended up being fun and memorable.

We started out our day gathering with family for brunch at J. Christopher's.  As many of you know, my father-in-law died two years ago on Independence Day.  It was good to get to be together with Matt's family on the 2nd anniversary of Pops' home-going.  We ate a leisurely brunch, visited, and even made it through twenty minutes of Reed and Jonathan's outside umbrella antics without losing any eyeballs.  Winning.

We had planned to cook out and watch fireworks with our community group, but the rain wouldn't let up and the game got called.  Luckily, our friends the Bowlers invited us to crash their dinner!  After days and days of rain and being inside with the kiddos, well... don't mind if we do! ;)  Below, Reed and Molly are picking blueberries with Audrey and Mr. Craig and friends.

We even ran over to the church to try to let off some fireworks in the drizzle!  So funny. :)

The next day it was still raining, so we met up with my family at the aquarium for some cousin fun!  It got super crowded toward the afternoon, but we got there at opening and missed the bulk of the crowds.

We went back to Peachtree City, and squeezed a golf cart ride (clown car version) in between rain showers.

And we ended the night piled in the garage with more wet fireworks!

And at the end of the day, this is how we say goodbye to our Colorado cousins! :(

Hope everyone had a Happy Fourth of July!
